The latest lip trend or inspiration for your Halloween beauty look? Well both, perhaps. Orange has become the colour of 2012, tranforming everything from couture to our coiffures into a distinct shade of tangerine. Just in time for pumpkin season, it's hit our beauty bags too.
Orange was big on the a/w catwalks (models at Narciso Rodriguez worked a glossy burnt orange) and the trend shows no signs of disappearing with a matte amber lip also making an appearance for s/s 2013.
It may look a little scary, but bold orange is just the thing for lifting an ashen winter skintone. The secret? If you're a first timer, choose matte over gloss and keep eyes minimal with a nude eyeshadow.
"Skin-toned shadow blended into sockets with a lighter shade below the brow bone gives the illusion of lift," says Bobbi Brown, whose Ultra Nude Eye Palette, £39, is the perfect match to orange toned lips.
The future really is orange, even if it's just for your lips.
