What it is:Limited Edition Bombay Collection from Chanel
Why everyone is talking about it:We've been waiting for this collection ever since we saw the legendary annual Chanel Metiers d'Art fashion show, which this year paid homage to the glorious city of Bombay. Models sauntered down the catwalk, like Maharajas of old, adorned in rich embroidery and jewels; Chanel's classic Parisian tailoring combined with Eastern opulence. Make-up of course followed suit with heavily kohl rimmed eyes and highlights of glistening gold. Traditional Indian beauty in its full glory.
What's the story:The prettiest, ultra luminous golden powder, an iridescent shimmer for lips, heavy kohl crayons and an intense bronze/brown eye colour with a subtle sparkle. Not to mention a gorgeous polish, Le Vernis in Diwali, appropriately named after the festival of lights considering the extent of its sparkle, and sure to be the hot new nail colour of the season (you read it here first).
Why EL loves it:Flawless skin, intense almond eyes, shimmering lips - there's both an elegance and a strength in Indian beauty, and bronze and gold metallics are the perfect summer hues. Of course, there's also the magpie effect - shimmering products in the iconic Chanel packaging? We're sold.
Verdict:Get it before it's gone; and we can guarantee it will be soon.
Available exclusively in all Chanel boutiques, Harrods, Selfridges W1, Selfridges Manchester Exchange, House of Fraser Glasgow and Fenwick Newcastle from 27th June 2012
