What is it: Opium Vapeurs, from £46 nationwide and at Harrods
What's the story: Since its launch in 1977, YSL's iconic fragrance Opium has been making headlines, and a tiny bit of scandal. Remember that Sophie Dahl advert? Fast-forward to 2012 and the scent is in the news (and in our noses) again thanks to its modern makover.
Why EL loves it: YSL describes the new scent as 'floriental'. We say it's divine. The evocative nature of the original remains, but with a lighter, and more modern hint of spice. Sweet orange blossom adds a feminine touch.
Verdict: Light yet luxurious, with all the mystique of the original.
