MasterChef winner Thomasina Miers is back with a gorgeous new collection of recipes inspired by her everlasting love of Mexican cuisine. Along with delectable-sounding dishes like queso fundido with chorizo, and baked sea bream a la Veracruzana (don't worry - they will be in English!) Thomasina's new cookbook, Wahaca: Mexican Food at Home, also reveals secrets from inside her burgeoning chain of cheap and chic Mexican restaurants.
So what else has 'Tommi' (as she's often called) been up to since winning MasterChef seven years ago? Quite simply, she's been busy. Along with presenting TV's top-notch Wild Gourmet and A Cook's Tour of Spain, Thomasina has been continuing her passion of Mexican cooking, effectively becoming an ambassador for the cuisine.
Thomasina first fell in love with Mexico's street food when training with local chefs on her travels, and now is the proud owner of six Wahaca restaurants in and around London (plus a mobile 'Street Kitchen'). If that weren't enough, Thomasina also found time to have a baby (Tatyana, now one). "I cooked most recipes while pregnant or with a baby," she reveals, "so they're relaxed and unfussy."
Want to cook Thomasina's new dishes for yourself? We have four delicious recipes from Wahaca: Mexican Food at Home for you to try:
