With Blur's triumphant supergroup return for the Olympics' closing ceremony on 12 August, and the release of their greatest hits boxset, Blur 21, on 21 July, you'd think front man Damon Albarn might have enough on his plate. Not so, for he both writes and stars in Dr Dee, a hip contemporary opera that mixes chamber orchestra music with African drum beats and tells the weird and wonderful story of the occult advisor to Elizabeth I who is said to have inspired Shakespeare's Prospero. It's got to be incredible.
