Glastonbury might not be happening this year, but on its usual weekend, something rather different is taking place a stone's throw away. Orchestra in a Field is a classical music festival that sounds absolutely gorgeous. Organised by conductor Charles Hazelwood it is a veritable symphony of outdoor performances, from the impassioned razzmatazz of Bizet's opera Carmento to the glorious oddity of a rendition by Scrapheap Opera (who upcycle instruments from scrapheap finds) of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. In the Talk Tent EL is also excited to see 5x15 (where 5 speakers stand up and tell a personal story for 15 minutes), an event we've been to many times in London and absolutely loved. If you fancy a chic alterative to the usual music festival fare, try this.
