Although choreographer and dance impresario Pina Bausch died in 2009, her legacy continues to propel the ballet company to which she lent her name to ever greater heights. As part of the London 2012 Olympic celebrations, Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch are performing ten dance pieces in the Barbican that have been inspired by the company's residencies in various cities, including Los Angeles, Istanbul, Rome and Japan. Despite being a creative travelogue, the piece is named after Wuppertal, the German city where the company is based and which is the beating heart of its inventiveness. Expect to be swept away.
