Despite his firm reputation as one of Paris' most prominent couturiers, Lanvin's ingenious conductor Alber Elbaz has often displayed a brilliant sense of play and a lightness of touch.
From his joyous concoctions for H&M (illustrated, embellished tees and fanciful tulle dresses) and the cheeky surrealist touches of his gowns, to starring in Lanvin's own ad campaigns and the signature child-like scrawl on the box of any store purchase - he has always kept us on our toes with his ability to balance fun and fashion so charmingly.
And he never ceases... His new collaboration with Ladurée has upped the confectionary brand's anté as fashion's favourite party food. For a long time our desk-side treat has been the gilded mint green box full of exquisite macaroons; playful cherry blossom and strawberry candy flavours and the unbeatable classics salted caramel and vanilla, each as moreish as the last. However, Lanvin's new bubblegum macaroon is a cut above - the combination of the packaging's vibrant fashion illustration and this girly kitsch flavor is topped off with a luscious red grosgrain bow - they're delightful and fun but somehow still terribly grown up and glossy.
They launch 28 September. We will be making our dash down to our nearest Ladurée... see you there!
