Some of the best drinking dens in Soho are places like The Phoenix (packed with theatrical types), The Arts Club (pictured, awesome cocktails and great music) and - for a really bleary, late night - Trisha's; all of which purport to be members' clubs and are tucked away down dodgy-looking staircases, tactics which seem to put off the riff-raff. If you arrive early enough, especially in a small group, you're bound to get in. I'm not giving out the precious addresses, however - only those who can be bothered to search out these places deserve to drink in them.
